Prices of garments, headwear, footwear up 0.12% MoM in Vietnam in Apr

Vietnam's consumer price index in April rose by 0.07 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 4.4 per cent year on year (YoY), mainly due to a hike in petroleum prices, the general statistics office said.
The prices of garments, headwear and footwear rose by 0.12 per cent MoM.
The core inflation in April soared by 0.17 per cent MoM and by 2.79 per cent YoY.

Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) in April rose by 0.07 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 4.4 per cent year on year (YoY), primarily due to a hike in petroleum prices, according to the general statistics office (GSO).

Among the 11 main groups of consumer goods and services, eight witnessed price hikes compared to the previous month while the three remaining groups saw decline in prices. The prices of garments, headwear and footwear rose by 0.12 per cent MoM in the month.

The core inflation in April soared by 0.17 per cent MoM and by 2.79 per cent YoY.

The January-April core inflation grew by 2.81 per cent YoY on an average—lower than the CPI average of 3.93 per cent.
