The US consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) increased by 0.3 per cent month on month (MoM) on a seasonally-adjusted basis in November this year after rising by 0.2 per cent in each of the previous four months, the Bureau of Labour Statistics reported.

Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased by 2.7 per cent before seasonal adjustment.

The energy index rose by 0.2 per cent MoM after being unchanged in October.

The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.3 per cent in November, as it did in each of the previous three months, a BLS release said.

The all items index rose by 2.7 per cent for the 12 months ending November, after rising by 2.6 per cent over the 12 months ending October.

The energy index decreased by 3.2 per cent for the 12 months ending November and increased by 0.2 per cent in November, after being unchanged in October. It decreased by 3.2 per cent over the past 12 months.

The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.3 per cent in November, as it did in the preceding 3 months, and rose by 3.3 per cent over the past 12 months. The index for apparel also increased in November.
