Sound weather in July and August helped clothing sales in Q3, while non-store retailers showed sustained monthly rises over both quarters.
Such volumes are estimated to have risen by 0.5 per cent month on month (MoM) and 1.5 per cent YoY in September, following an MoM increase of 0.6 per cent in August.
Such volumes were down by 1.6 per cent compared with their pre-COVID-19 pandemic level in February 2020.
The amount spent online, known as online spending values, rose by 3.5 per cent QoQ and 5 per cent YoY in Q3 2025. Such values rose by 1.4 per cent MoM and 5.6 per cent YoY in September 2025.
Total spend—the sum of in-store and online sales—rose by 0.7 per cent MoM. As a result, the proportion of sales made online increased from 27.8 per cent in August this year to 28 per cent in September.
