The net income for H1 FY23 was $88.6 million, or $1.79 per share ($1.78 per share on a diluted basis), down from the net income of $105.4 million, or $2.14 per share ($2.13 per share on a diluted basis) in H1 FY22, the company said in a media release.
In its second quarter of fiscal 2023 (Q2 FY23), the Buckle recorded a 3.2 per cent decline in net sales to $292.4 million from $302 million for the prior year's second quarter. The comparable store net sales for Q2 FY23 also decreased by 3.3 per cent. Online sales saw a reduction of 5.6 per cent to $43.6 million for the 13-week period, compared to net sales of $46.2 million for the same period in FY22.
Furthermore, the net income for the second quarter of fiscal 2023 amounted to $45.6 million, or $0.92 per share ($0.92 per share on a diluted basis), in contrast with net income of $50.1 million, or $1.02 per share ($1.01 per share on a diluted basis) for the second quarter of fiscal 2022.
