The centre will produce and export Eri silk as organic silk. The company has visited Assam and held discussions with state government officials, field level functionaries and sericulturists.

The central government has also sanctioned two Eri spun silk mills under the North Eastern Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) at a total project cost of ₹43.06 crore.
