Karnataka clears proposal for silk cluster in Mysuru

The cluster in Mysuru will be one of the six clusters to be established across the country under the National Handloom Development Programme. The setting up of the cluster will boost employment in the region apart from fuelling local economy by spanning ancillary industries to support the cluster, the regional media reports said.

Aimed at developing the sericulture industry in the area, the cluster with state-of-the-art facilities will be beneficial to weavers and others stakeholders associated with the sericulture industry. (RR)
