A four-day Mysore handloom silk exhibition was organized in Belgaum by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC).

The items for sale at the exhibition included a collection of designer crepe de chine, georgettes, printed and kasuti saris; and ties, tops and scarves made of silk in both traditional and contemporary range.

KSIC has acquired Geographical Indication (GI) Registration for Mysore silk, said to be the best crepe silk in the country. It uses pure zari that has 0.65 percent of gold content and about 65 percent of silver content.
