Chinese 2011 raw silk exports fall in volume

Chinese exports of raw silk fell in volume, but rose in value in the previous year.

China's total exports of raw silk realized 7,122 tons from January to December 2011, down 6.3 percent year on year.

The export value however rose by 8.2 percent over 2010 to US $367 million.

In the month of December 2011 alone, raw silk exports touched 516 tons and value reached $23.82 million according to statistics data.
