Chinese silk gray fabric exports down in volume

Chinese exports of gray silk fabrics fell in the first two months of the current year.

China exported 19,244,100 meters of gray silk fabrics in the period, down 17.5 percent year on year.

Export value registered US $93.60 million, down 1.57 percent year on year. Average unit price stood at $4.86 / meter, a rise of 19.31 percent.

The top five markets gray silk fabrics were Pakistan, Italy, India, South Korea and Japan.

Among them, exports to Pakistan and South Korea rose slightly in volume by 3.72 percent and 1.46 percent, respectively.

Shipments to Italy, India and Japan dropped significantly in volume by 34.36 percent, 39.69 percent and 27.92 percent.
