Shanghai Silk Group, a major Chinese garment exporter, stated that company expected a bigger profit this year as it developed higher value-added products.
Giving credit to innovation, Shi Weiming, General Manager of Shanghai Silk, said that the company withstood trade challenges in the global market.
Though the export volume dropped last year, company got a 10 percent profit rise, he added. This year company expects more increase in profit.
Shanghai Silk exports Lily brand women's wear to Europe, the United States and Saudi Arabia and achieved export sales of US $1.6 million last year.
Company plans to launch more fashion shows in export markets to promote the brand, Shi said.
She also said that company expected more revenue by selling its own brand rather than exporting tailor-made goods.
