Silk cluster has been granted a loan of $37 million which will be used to revamp and enhance manufacturing facilities.
This cluster is a group of 12 manufacturers who will all receive loans.
Production under this project will commence in 2008.
Major export destinations include Germany, Greece, Japan, Italy and Turkey while only seven-eight percent of the total output will be consumed by domestic market.
This will help cope with the rising demand for quality silk in international market.
