Minister of Handloom shakes up fake silk showrooms

Following repeated complaints regarding fake sale of silk fabric, Minister of Handlooms N K K P Raja made surprise visit to 18 silk showrooms to check the authenticity of complains and restrict such trade.
He visited Aringar Anna Self-Help Group Silk Cooperative showroom on Kamarajar Road and checked the silk sarees, which were fake.
After this surprise visit, he asked concerned officials to investigate the matter deeply and take serious actions against silk manufacturers involved in such illegal practices in Kancheepuram.
Minister condemned such trading and requested to prevent fake silk sales.
