Abandoned mill crumbles
18 Aug '06
1 min read
A vacant old silk mill property in Cambria County closed in the early nineties has become a problem for many residents.
The fated building partially collapsed when a part of the roof caved in and neighbors are afraid of the imminent danger.
Bricks, rubble and debris now cover up an alley since the roof fell apart.
Some of the building materials were blown onto the neighborhood property destroying backyard fence.
A non-profit group recently purchased the building but residents want portage officials to do something since the vacant factory is a menace.
