Silk cooperative societies wait for discount subsidy

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has been requested by Handloom Weavers Progressive Union to release discount subsidies for silk co-operative societies.
Former AIADMK Government had indicated to liquidate handloom stocks at hefty discount rates of 35 to 55 percent, informed, General Secretary of the union K V Murugesan.
But as of now cooperative societies have not provided subsidy and as a result their large chunk of working capital has been blocked, Murugesan stated.
