The Commerce Department has recommended to levy anti-dumping duty on Chinese silk fabrics. If this recommendation is taken into consideration it is bound to affect half-a-dozen Chinese exporters and their associates.
Investigation on anti-dumping was based on numerous complaints from Karnataka based organizations.
According to official sources, Commerce Department has recommended anti-dumping duty between 40 and 50 percent and once Finance Ministry will declare, duties will be levied on silk fabrics.
Imposing this duty may make impact on India's decision on assigning market economy status to China.
