Amendments in Central Silk Board Act for silk industry

Amendments will be implemented in Central Silk Board Act which will in the interest of silk industry. It will be finalized after consulting producing states.
Main objective of act will be of producing, certifying and distributing good quality eggs to farmers in sufficient quantity throughout the year.
This will not affect existing seed cocoon and cocoon markets negatively. Instead it will earn good profits to farmers for there production.
It will also facilitate large scale reeling units for on-line trading and to attract big entrepreneurs, corporates and large-scale investments into the sector.
