  • Verdant Specialty Solutions, a Samyang Company, has completed the acquisition of Lubrizol's Elmendorf site on December 31, 2025, gaining manufacturing assets, R&D labs, and a specialty oilfield chemical portfolio.
  • The move strengthens Verdant's Oil & Gas offerings, enhances innovation, and supports growth across upstream and midstream applications in North America.

Verdant Specialty Solutions, a Samyang Company (“Verdant”), announced that it closed the acquisition on December 31, 2025, of the assets of Lubrizol’s Elmendorf site, including the associated product portfolio and the on-site Research and Development laboratory.

The Elmendorf acquisition significantly strengthens Verdant’s position in the Oil & Gas production chemicals market, expanding its technology offering with the addition of H2S scavengers, scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, and other specialty oilfield chemicals. These products complement Verdant’s existing chemistry portfolio and enhance its ability to serve customers across upstream and midstream applications.

In addition to manufacturing assets, the transaction includes a well-established Research and Development laboratory, advanced application testing capabilities, and pilot-scale facilities. These assets will accelerate product innovation, enable faster commercialization, and support customer-specific formulation and field-driven development.

“This acquisition represents a strategic milestone for Verdant as we continue to build a differentiated, technology-driven portfolio for the energy industry,” said Todd Nelmark, Chief Executive Officer of Verdant Specialty Solutions. “The Elmendorf site brings highly complementary chemistries, deep technical expertise, and exceptional R&D and pilot capabilities that will allow us to better serve our customers today while positioning Verdant for future growth.”

The Elmendorf assets will be integrated into Verdant’s Energy Services platform and will operate as part of Verdant’s broader North American manufacturing and innovation network. Verdant plans to retain key technical capabilities at the site and leverage the R&D infrastructure to support both existing and next-generation product development.

“This transaction aligns with Samyang’s long-term strategy of expanding its global specialty chemicals footprint through targeted investments in high-value, application-driven technologies,” Nelmark added.
