US based manufacturer of premium threads and technical textiles, American & Efird (A&E), in its recently released corporate sustainability report for 2015-16 has renewed its pledge to create a better world through environmentally protective steps.

Highlighting its 2015-16 sustainability goals, and progress achieved in that direction, the report features A&E’s achievements in the areas of its ‘ten threads of sustainability’ programme and employee health and safety. The company’s ten threads of sustainability – global carbon footprint; water conservation and recycling; energy conservation; sustainable packaging; recycling and waste reduction; sustainable products; global environmental, health and safety and social responsibility; supply chain sustainability; eco-driven product stewardship and eco-driven education and involvement are discussed in detail. Accomplishments on employee safety and health matters are also listed in the report.

To create its 2015-16 report, released in conjunction with the Earth Day, A&E also evaluated the global yarn spinning, dyeing and finishing facilities in which the company has ownership. Categories measured in the report include global carbon footprint, water conservation, energy conservation and recycling and waste reduction.

“Our Eco-Driven programme and our Ten Threads of Sustainability continue to guide and challenge us. We are very proud of the progress that our global manufacturing teams have made through their continued dedication to safety, sustainability and social responsibility”, said Jimmy Summers, vice president - environmental, health and safety or sustainability at A&E.
