Bangladesh could work with the Philippines to promote eco-friendly transport and renewable energy to meet the rising global demand, according to Philippine ambassador to Bangladesh Nina P Cainglet.

She told this to investors and businessmen at an event at the World Trade Centre in Chattogram.

"There is ample scope to improve further trade relation between two friendly countries. Economic ties have not been reached at desired level yet though we have bilateral relations" she was quoted as saying by domestic media reports.

The Bangladesh-Philippine Chamber can work to bridge bilateral ties to accelerate economic cooperation, she noted.

Administrator of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Mohammad Anwar Pasha requested the envoy to urge her country's entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh's special economic zones either independently or through joint ventures.
