Planet Textiles 2017, the leading sustainable textile summit for the global textile sector, will kick off from May 24 in Bengaluru. The event on textiles and sustainability will discuss about various crucial issues including textile wastewater pollution, chemical management and natural resource conservation including both energy and water use.

“Planet Textiles is the leading international event on sustainability in the textile sector because it discusses real-world practical issues and ideas on how the global supply chain can move to a more sustainable future,” said Scott Miller, director, business development at the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. “The event last year was a huge success with nearly 450 delegates from 33 countries and featured some inspirational presentations from industry leaders, along with tangible outcomes.”

Senior industry executives and speakers from various brands such as VF Corporation, Nike, Marks & Spencer, Puma, Gap, Levi Strauss, along with many others, had participated in the 2016 summit held in Copenhagen.

The textile industry programme will be co-organised by MCL News & Media, publisher of Ecotextile News, and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition in support with long-time partner Messe Frankfurt. (RR)
