Crystal International publishes Sustainability Report 2019

Crystal International Group, an apparel manufacturing company, has published Sustainability Report 2019, with the theme of “50 Years of Persistent Excellence” to reflect its 50th anniversary in 2020. World Benchmarking Alliance had selected Crystal International as a keystone company of SDG2000: the most influential 2,000 companies for sustainable future.
 
In compliance with the environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting guide of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, as well as with reference to the GRI Standards, the report covered Crystal International’s sustainability vision, strategies, key initiatives, achievement and performance in 2019.
 
To illustrate the 50 years of journey, the report outlines the milestones and highlighted Crystal International’s key achievements throughout these 50 years.
 
Progress in 2019 of third global 5-year sustainability targets (2018 – 2022) included: planting of around 300,000 trees, with more than 2.8 million trees planted since 2007; reduced over 3 per cent of fresh water intensity compared with 2018; empowered around 5,000 women through CARE, with around 13,000 women accumulatively in 2018 and 2019; and volunteering over 8,000 hours in the countries where we operate, with more than 17,000 hours accumulatively in 2018 and 2019 which already exceeded the target.
 
Company’s upcoming focuses moving forward are: manufacturing excellence; industry 4.0; roadmap for long-term carbon reduction; fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action; and circular economy model.
