Israeli firm Nova Milan opened its first innovation centre in Costa Rica’s Alajuela city last week as part of a project to produce plant leather, sustainable fabrics and bioplastics from organic plant waste. The aim is to help Costa Rica's struggles with plant-based waste like banana, coconut, yuca and pineapple, and use leftover agricultural products.
