Lenzing, a supplier of high-quality man-made cellulose fibres to the global textile and nonwovens industry, has been listed in the VÖNIX index (VBV Austrian Sustainability Index) for the tenth consecutive year.

Since 2005, about 60 publicly traded Austrian companies are analysed each year on the basis of about 100 environmental and social criteria. The best companies are accepted for listing in the index for a period one year.

Like previous years, Lenzing received very good rating again this year, the company said in a press release.

The Lenzing Group's portfolio ranges from dissolving pulp, standard and specialty cellulose fibres to engineering services. It is the only company worldwide combining the manufacturing of all three man-made cellulose fibre generations on a large industrial scale under one roof – from the classic viscose to modal and lyocell (Tencel) fibres.

In 2013, Lenzing Group had sales turnover of €1.91 billion, with exports accounting for 90.8 per cent share. (RKS)
