Students learn sustainability in textiles at Zenitex

The students of Delhi Public School, Surat, had the opportunity to learn about sustainability in textiles during an industrial visit to Zenitex, Surat. The programme was hosted by Viral Desai, Zenitex CEO, who is also an environmental activist. The students were also informed about the initiatives taken by Zenitex for energy conservation.

During their visit to the Surat based factory, the students learnt about the successful implementation of energy conservation techniques and the 360° sustainability approach in textile manufacturing.

Zenitex, textile processing, dyeing and garments manufacturing industry, also undertakes various social activities in association with Hearts@Work Foundation such as organising camps for cancer screening, women empowerment and no tobacco campaign. "It was a delight to host the students of DPS for an industrial visit. And when it comes to going green, I believe that nature has always been taking care of us, and we must do our best by giving back in abundance," said Desai who also encouraged the kids to plant trees.

Under the 'Clean India Green India' campaign, Zenitex plans to carry out a massive tree plantation drive with DPS around the school. (RR)
