Supply chain traceability is seen as an action that adds to the overhead without any immediate returns to the suppliers as the current ways of managing and sharing data with brands can be difficult for suppliers, he said.
With rising demand for the brands with traceability in terms of government regulation in Europe, it is a matter of time manufacturers are mandated to share the information, he added.
