Eliza Southard has been appointed as the Product Support Director for Nexcelle, the engine nacelle joint venture of GE's Middle River Aircraft Systems and Aircelle (Safran).

Based at Nexcelle's Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters, Southard is in charge of managing all customer support activities, with responsibility for the company's internal and external interfaces with the global customer community.

"Eliza brings her experience in operational customer support to Nexcelle at an important juncture - as our company's role in creating next-generation integrated propulsion systems progresses into the hardware manufacturing, flight test and service introduction phases," said Nexcelle President Huntley Myrie.

During her career at Nexcelle's GE parent company, Southard has developed expertise in a full range of operations, beginning with sourcing duties that included contract administrator, buyer, sourcing agent, contracts negotiator, and sourcing leader for aircraft engine and nacelle components.

Southard also had other assignments at GE Engine Services, where she was the Business Partnerships Leader for the GP7000/GEnx engine programs. She also served as the Business Leader for Engine Services component repair - responsible for leading a team to deliver on customer commitments, while meeting financial performance.

Prior to joining the Nexcelle team, she was the GE Aviation Systems'.

Customer Satisfaction Master Black Belt, where she partnered with this operation's leadership team to drive improved customer satisfaction.

Southard earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Kentucky, and her Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University.

Nexcelle was created in 2008, and has been selected to supply the nacelle systems for two major engine programs: the CFM International LEAP-1C integrated propulsion system on COMAC's C919 airliner; and the GE Passport engine for Bombardier's Global 7000 and Global 8000 business aircraft.
