3A Composites Core Materials, a global organizational unit within 3A Composites that produces and distributes composites for the architecture, visual communication, transport/industry, and wind energy markets, has launched AIREX T10, a new PET-based structural core material for high volume sandwich applications.
AIREX T10 features a very homogenous cell structure and highly enhanced mechanical characteristics. The new direct extrusion process allows for extremely consistent material properties and an unparalleled quality control.3A Composites Core Materials, a global organizational unit within 3A Composites that produces and distributes composites for the architecture, visual #
Its formability and processing have also been improved, yet it remains a recycled and recyclable material. With its lean and highly-automated production process, AIREX T10 will offer considerable total cost savings for the end application, the company said in a press release.
AIREX T10 targets current volume applications such as marine and wind energy as well as nascent markets with large potential for sandwich technologies such as the automotive industry.
Roman Thomassin, CEO of 3A Composites Core Materials, said “We are proud to once again lead the industry of high performing structural core materials with the introduction of AIREX T10. This is an important milestone in the further industrialization of core materials. We are convinced that AIREX T10 will leverage the use of PET foam cores in
even more applications.”
3A Composites Core Materials is the global leader in producing sustainable, lightweight and resource-friendly materials to enable the production of lighter and energy efficient end products. (GK)
