For the project, Porcher Industries, a world leader in technical textiles, carbon fibre reinforcements and thermoplastic composite solutions, and Airbus Helicopters have developed a new carbon/PEEK reinforced solution for optimised weight-saving and damage tolerance.
The high performance prepreg material was developed using a PEEK resin, and required special reinforcement processing and high temperature impregnation expertise. This has allowed Airbus Helicopters to master the processing and production of a CFRP composite part that delivers exceptional performance. (SV)
