Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. (MCP), a US-based company that provides industry solutions with an evolving line of synthetic emulsion polymers and unparalleled customer focus, has launched Tykote 6160 emulsion for food packaging applications where outstanding oil and grease barrier and good press runnability are required.

The new product demonstrates MCP's drive to continue to build a broad Tykote and Rovene product line to serve packaging coating and ink suppliers.

Tykote 6160 is the first acrylic product developed specifically to provide barrier to oil and grease products. The grade complements the extensive Tykote styrene-butadiene emulsion polymers that provide superior MVTR, and styrene-acrylic emulsions that balance MVTR and OGR. Additionally, Rovene 4119 and Tykote SBR products demonstrate very low Cobb results. The extensive Tykote barrier product line, Rovene paper coating products, and the Rovene graphic arts products give MCP personnel many options to provide solutions to current and potential customers, according to a company press release.

MCP is a privately held specialty chemical company dedicated to innovation, quality, service, and sustainability. MCP offers products for a variety of industries including adhesives, nonwovens, paint, specialty coatings, graphic arts, printing and packaging, textiles, carpet, sealants, construction, oil services, and paper.
