The feature will make checkout even easier and ensure payments are securely processed, said Meta on its website. Meta Pay will allow businesses to chat with customers in real time to answer queries and confirm purchase details. Sellers will also be able to create payment requests with item descriptions and price details.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Meta Pay to users in an Instagram post. “You can now buy products from small businesses and track your order in chat on Instagram in the US. Pay with Meta Pay and checkout in a few taps,” he wrote.
