The Osaka based Toyobo Company manufacturing Xylon fiber used in bullet proof vest, was successful in reaching an agreement with a US police officer, to settle a suit filed against it in the United States.
The officer had filed a suit seeking damages against injuries sustained due to failed bulletproof vest made with the Japanese firm's material.
Suit filed by the US police unions, against selling of defective vests by Japanese and US companies, was settled last year in July.
The Company was able to reach a settlement between the complainant and all defendants along with the vest maker, Second Chance Armor Inc.
Toyobo has yet to contend with pending lawsuits filed against it by the US government and the Michigan based vest producer, regarding Xylon.
