New Generation Computing Inc (NGC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American Software Inc, has announced that Blair Corporation has selected NGC's Web-based sourcing and production system, e-SPS to help streamline its global sourcing and production of apparel and home furnishings.

Blair Corporation will install the software at its Warren, Pennsylvania headquarters. e-SPS will enable the company's global sourcing team to improve efficiencies and gain visibility in the production lifecycle in real time via the Internet.

Larry Vicini, VP of Merchandise Procurement, Blair Corporation said, "NGC's e-SPS will enhance our ability to carefully monitor our global sourcing operations by providing end-to-end visibility."

"We conducted extensive research and found that NGC's software products are closely aligned with our needs as an apparel and home products retailer sourcing the majority of our merchandise overseas,” Vicini added.

Alan Brooks, President of NGC said, "We've worked closely with Blair Corporation's project team to address both their short- and long-term sourcing needs. The company is one of many retailers, manufacturers and brand managers realizing the importance today of deploying Web-based sourcing tools to take control of what has become a truly global manufacturing process for sewn products and other goods."

“We are excited to have Blair Corporation as a new NGC customer and look forward to working with them on this important implementation," Brooks added.
