Undertaking a company-wide project for sales force automation and logistics Integration, LVMH turned to IBM Business Partner Focus Business Solutions for consulting expertise and integration services on the project.
At the center of this project is IBM Information Server, which delivers trusted, real-time information to hand-held devices used by the company's sales force. IBM Information Server enables customer purchase orders to be input directly into LVMH's SAP applications and warehouse management system while it enables a single version of customer and order master data information to be delivered for order status management.
To provide LVMH sales persons with real-time, accurate customer information, each time they connect hand held devices to the Web, the latest information automatically replicates to their device.
The IT project has dramatically improved productivity by increasing quantity of daily deliveries by 100 percent. Additional savings have also resulted in improved decision making by providing more up-to-date business information to the sales force, as well as time savings and risk reduction by automating previously manual order entry processes.
"Optimizing business operations, applications, people, and processes requires on demand access to critical information the business can trust," said Pete Fiore, vice president, IBM Information Integration Solutions.
"IBM Information Server unlocks information from its application and process silos, and improves confidence in information by providing better control over data, enabling clients like LVMH to overhaul some of their most important business process such as sales force automation and logistics integration."
