Specialty dyes manufacture Dystar is setting up a new Global Innovation Center at its Dystar Nanjing Colours facility in China, which apart from a laboratory will also house a scale up unit for small production lots.

The Innovation Center will have a built-up area of 3,000 square metres and is expected to be in operation at the end of March 2017.

The Centre will have state-of-the-art laboratories for research, development, process technology development and up-scale labs for synthesis and finish of dyes and chemicals.

“This is our commitment to innovation in products and manufacturing technologies in order to deliver environmental compatible products and minimise the impact on the environment,” the company said.

According to Dystar, its R&D is directed to help customers achieve process excellence with regard to economical dyeing procedures; reduced water and energy use; and lower waste water and polluting effects. (AR)
