In the previous week, Korean toluene prices went down due to decreased downstream demand and lower upstream product prices.

In the initial days of last week, prices were at US$ 1220/ton, slightly lower as compared to the same period of its previous week. Speculators assessed the spot prices of Toluene in the range of US$ 1205-1220/ton FOB Korea.

In Japan and S.E. Asia, toluene prices showed similar trend as Korea and declined by 1% w-o-w.

In India, toluene prices remained stable-to-firm as reportedly; imports were low, resulting in tight availability of the product in the market.

In Europe, toluene prices showed downward trend as well and decreased by 3% w-o-w.

In US, toluene prices showed similar trend as Asia and saw a w-o-w fall of 1%. Prices were hovering around 420–430 cents/gallon (FOB US) in the initial days of October, which increased by 2% in the second week and then declined by 1% w-o-w, each in the third and fourth week.
