M-Xylene prices go down in Europe, rise in US last week

M-Xylene prices were stable-to-up in Asia, went down in Europe while they went up in US in the week ending February 2.

In Korea, M-Xylene prices showed upward trend, due to strong demand from the downstream market. In the early days of last week, prices were assessed at US$ 1220/ton, same as compared to the previous week and during the week were quoting at US$ 1220-1235/ton FOB Korea.
 
M-Xylene prices were stable in S.E. Asia. In the initial days of the reporting week, M-Xylene prices were at US$ 1260/ton lower by US$ 5/ton, as compared to the same period of the previous week. During the week, mMarket analysts marked the spot prices of M-Xylene at US$ 1260-1275/ton CFR S.E. Asia.
 
CFR China prices were assessed at US$ 1265/ton. According to the market sources, downstream buyers have nearly completed the stocking of the product ahead of the spring festival.
 
In Europe, M-Xylene prices went down due to sluggish regional downstream demand trends. In this market scenario, M-Xylene prices were assessed at US$ 1305/ton FOB Rotterdam lower by US$ 10/ton, as compared its previous week. Prices were spotted steady at US$ 1305/ton FOB Rotterdam. 
 
In US, M-Xylene prices surged up last week. Downstream demand trends improved in the region. M-Xylene prices were witnessed in the range of 455-460 (cents/gallon) FOB US.
