Dyeing & printing industry performs in flying colours

Showing rapid progress and growth the dyeing and printing industry of China added new large scale enterprises to reach 1778 units, a 25.48 percent rise over the previous year.
These units produced 36.23 billion metres of printed and dyed fabrics recording a 15.69 percent increase over the previous year.
A 19.45 percent jump in the sales income was recorded at RMB 134.57 billion while production went up 19.76 percent at RMB 139.71 billion, all leading to generate a profit of RMB 4.15 billion which grew by 35.13 percent over the previous year.
Recording a 7.1 percent year on year growth at US $12 billion, the rate was 13.33 percentage points below when compared with 2004 figure.
Dyeing and printing industry also registered a $4.965 billion trade surplus, which is up 25.16 percent. However, in comparison to the year 2004, the growth rate was down 37.29 percentage points against previous year.
