Benzene prices waver

Benzene prices in Asia rose slightly as a result of sudden hike in energy prices and also benzene prices in the West.

Sources reported that the demand was growing and the improving global aromatic complex would further push prices higher.

April contract prices have gone up to US $705 per metric ton FOB Korea mark.

However buyers believe that since there was still enough stock of benzene in Asia, the prices will not sharply hike.

The buyer bids are pegged at around $680 per metric ton, though the traders are not accepting these prices.

Sources added that the prices are likely to go down considering that the crude prices are expected to drop, in future.

Thus, the buyers are optimistic and are not in a hurry to place their orders.
