AOC hikes North American prices for polyester resins

Additionally, there will be a price increase of US$0.06/lb in the U.S. and CN$0.13/kilo in Canada for all vinyl ester products.  These increases are effective for all products shipped on or after February 21, 2014. 

This action is due to recent increases in AOC’s raw material costs.  These raw material costs are driven by the surge in petrochemical feedstocks, specifically aromatics and olefins such as benzene, propylene and ethylene. 

In addition, natural gas prices have risen with each winter storm, further increasing the costs to produce petrochemicals and resins.  AOC’s global purchasing resources continue to work with their network of suppliers to manage costs and continue to meet customers’ needs.
