Methanex keeps March methanol contract prices unchanged

Methanex, the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol to major international markets, has announced its regional contract methanol prices for North America and Asia Pacific.
 
For the North American region, the non-discounted reference price for March 1-31, 2014, would be US$ 1.90/Gal or US$ 632/mt (converted to US$/mt using a conversion rate of 332.6 Gal per mt), same as those prevailing last month, according to the company’s website.
 
Similarly, for the Asia-Pacific region, the Asian posted contract price would be US$ 590/mt for the period from March 1-31, 2014, unchanged from the contract price in February.
 
For Europe region, Methanex’s contract price for January 1-March 31, 2014 period remains at €450/mt, up from the previous quarter’s contract price of €408/mt. 
 
Methanol is an organic chemical that is used in the textile industry in manufacturing processes.
 
For the year ended December 31, 2013, Methanex reported adjusted EBITDA of $736 million and adjusted net income of $471 million ($4.88 per share on a diluted basis), compared to adjusted EBITDA of $429 million and adjusted net income of $180 million ($1.90 per share on a diluted basis) for the year ended December 31, 2012.
