Petroleum Minister Aiyar may propose Pakistan to remove diesel & LAB from negative list

Currently, imports of LAB are on negative list, whereas PTA and polymers are on the positive list.
Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) is necessary for making polyester fibre. Pakistan's PTA demand is approximately 718,000 tons. With a production capacity reaching 453,000 tons, the country is expected to import 257,000 tons in 2005.
IOC was geared up to supply required quantities of diesel and PTA to Pakistan, Aiyar concluded.
