Wool in the Woods owned by Missy Burns and Anita Tosten has been open since 1998.
They dye with the anticipation of the cooler weather ahead using non-carcinogenic synthetic dyes which are hand-applied and heat is used to set the color into the yarn.
They hang the yarns and once they are dry, they are put into skeins using a hand-operated machine.
The wools take one day to dry and the cellulose or plant fiber yarns, such as cotton and rayon take two days to dry.
Wool and yarns are purchased from local farmers and the regular line consists of nine animal fiber yarns that come in 31 colors.
They also sell several cellulose fiber yarns that come in four colors but they sell more animal than cellulose fibers and their colors are very rich and vibrant.
They never have a faded look and permit different textures and color ranges.
These products are sold in yarn stores across the US, and can even be found in a few shops in Canada.
Their products are of very good quality and are a good price for the yardage they provide.
