A naphtha cracker facility within the next five years will be set up by Metro Alliance Holding Corp, owned by William Gatchalian to make petrochemical operations more profitable.

The factory will be producing 200,000 to 275,000 metric tons on yearly basis.

Another naphtha cracker unit is being planned in Batangas by JG Summit Holding Corp. via petrochemical subsidiary JG Summit Petrochemicals Corp which will cost $500 million and is expected to start by 2008.

Gatchalian disclosed that company had asked interested parties that included their partner NPC International Inc. of Iran to invest in the naphtha cracker unit in Philippines.

Naphtha cracker facility produces ethylene and propylene which are used to make fibers and polyester.
