EU has withdrawn the polyester fibres anti-dumping duties of 12 percent on Australia, 35.4, 15.8, and 27.7 percent on India, Indonesia and Thailand, respectively, explaining that these suppliers have stopped selling at prices lower than that of the domestic producers.

EU is a giant fibre market of over US $1.5 billion or 1.2 billion-euro.

This levy against Australia, Indonesia and Thailand were initially due to expire in July 2005 after five years and the duties against India were primarily due to lapse in December after the same period.

However, EU finally decided to lift these tariffs after six years.

''There is no likelihood of resumption of significant quantities of dumped exports. The measures should be repealed. The decision will enter into force after the notification.” EU Group said.
