QuestAir Technologies Inc announced that it has received an order valued at approximately CDN $0.6 million for a QuestAir H-3100 hydrogen purifier to recover hydrogen from ethylene cracker offgas at a petrochemical plant in Brazil.
QuestAir's H-3100 system will recover hydrogen from offgas produced by an ethylene cracker being installed in a new linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant located near São Paulo, Brazil. The high-purity hydrogen product from QuestAir's H-3100 will be used in the production of polyethylene.
Jonathan Wilkinson, President and CEO of QuestAir said, “Ethylene cracker offgas is an important source of cost-effective hydrogen to meet the burgeoning demands for hydrogen in the petrochemical industry, and we are excited by the growth prospects for QuestAir's hydrogen recovery systems in this application."
"The advanced H-6200 hydrogen purifier that we have developed in collaboration with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company is targeted specifically at larger capacity applications in this market.”
“In addition, this is our first sale into Latin America, which represents a significant growth market for QuestAir.” Wilkinson said.
QuestAir's H-3100 pressure swing adsorption (PSA) product purifies gas streams containing hydrogen to high-purity hydrogen for use in a range of industrial and petrochemical processes. QuestAir's PSA process and proprietary rotary valve technology deliver higher efficiency than conventional PSA systems in a more compact, cost-effective package. Since 1997, QuestAir has sold over 30 H-3100 plants to customers in Europe, Japan and North America.
QuestAir Technologies Inc is a developer and supplier of proprietary gas purification systems for several large international markets, including existing markets such as oil refining, biogas production and natural gas processing, and emerging markets such as fuel cell power plants and fuel cell vehicle refueling stations.
