Since the beginning of this year, China's dye price has kept rising. Prices of some products have increased more than 30 percent. The industry believes that the price rise of dye products is mainly due to the impact of environmental pressure. This will lead to deterioration of SMEs in the sector.

Data show that this year, the average price rise of dyes in Zhejiang area has been more than 10 percent, of which disperse dyes see the highest price rise, most of them have gained more than 30 percent, price increase of reactive dyes is second only to disperse dyes.

Industry analysts have pointed out that as a high-pollution industry, abatement pressure on dye industry will persist, under this grim situation, industry consolidation is expected to accelerate in the future, so dye price is expected to rise further.

At present, China's main dye production bases are concentrated in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai. The three regions together account for 80-85 percent of China's annual output.
