LANXESS brings LEVOTAN G for leather manufacturing process

Leather chemical maker LANXESS Deutschland GmbH presented LEVOTAN G as product of the month.
This product is a waterborne solution of glutaraldehyde which can be used in various steps of the leather manufacturing process and for the pre-tannage of wet white. It is compatible with commonly used pickling acids and mineral tanning materials. With vegetable extracts a synthetic tanning materials based on phenol or amine it polymerizes.
Leathers tanned with LEVOTAN-G have a soft feel and full round handle with a good resistance to alkalis. Applied in the retannage of wet blue it obtains soft and light weight leathers.
