China BlueChemical, a joint venture between CNOOC and Kingboard Chemical will start up its second methanol plant, adjoining the first plant, by end of this year.
According to a senior company official, who spoke to fibre2fashion, the new methanol plant located at Hainan Island in China, has a production capacity of 800,000 tons per year.
He added by saying that, the second plant has been built at the same site as the number -1 plant, which has a production capacity of 600,000 tons per annum. He also informed that the number -1 plant is operating at full production capacity rates.
China BlueChemical is a joint venture between CNOOC and Kingboard Chemical with stakes of 60 percent and 40 percent, respectively.
