Due to COVID-19 outbreak, Messe Frankfurt and CCPIT Tex have postponed the Allfashion Sourcing Cape Town and China Premium Tex (CPT) fairs to October 13-15, 2020. They will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Messe Frankfurt South Africa and CCPIT Tex took the call for the safety of the exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and attendees.

Allfashion Sourcing Cape Town is now an integral member of Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise Network consisting of 58 international fairs and through this affiliation will gain more international exposure. At the same time it allows Messe Frankfurt to increase a foothold on the African continent, as South Africa is seen as a stepping stone for business with other Sub-Saharan countries and offers opportunities in niche markets for smaller manufacturers. Allfashion sourcing Cape Town is a business-oriented marketplace combining African creativity, design and manufacturing with international sourcing options. The fair will be tailored to the needs and realities of the Southern African textile, leather and fashion industry. The re-branding brings with it added experiential elements and new exhibitor profiles to ensure that the needs of textile industry in Southern Africa are catered for, according to a press release by Messe Frankfurt.

“We must acknowledge that these are challenging times all around the globe. In light of the South African president’s announcement on COVID-19, it is important for us as trade fair organisers to make the appropriate decision for the safety of our local and international exhibitors, visitors, partners and stakeholders,” Joshua Low, managing director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa said.

"In the course of fighting against the coronavirus, the Chinese people are united in containing the epidemic scientifically and accurately, and have already successfully won a major victory within their own boarders. We at CCPIT Tex understand the importance of containing the spread of virus at a very early stage, so we fully agree with the decision of postponing the shows. We do believe this decision is to the best interest of all involved parties, our clients and attendees. In October, we are looking forward to witnessing a fresh and successful Allfashion Sourcing and CPT show in beautiful Cape Town,” Xu Yingxin, vice president of CNTAC, chairman of CCPIT TEX said.

With a unique portfolio of 58 international fairs for the textile sector, Messe Frankfurt is the world’s market leader when it comes to trade fairs for the textile sector. In 2019, around 23,000 exhibitors and approx. 600,000 visitors attended the company’s events around the globe. The portfolio covers the entire value chain of the textile industry and, as the main communication platform, Texpertise Network is a source of information about the world-renowned trade-fair brands and the first-class services provided by Messe Frankfurt.
