The company had organised the event for multiple reasons. Post pandemic, the market sentiment has not been very good in terms of future of the industry with retail not doing good. A very steep and continuous rise in price of raw materials has again reduced customer’s risk appetite to try new and premium products. There has also been a lot of filtration process across the industry wherein several players in the industry have gone for a toss and only a selected set of suppliers and customers who are making good products irrespective of price rise have sustained. Good customers now have limited good suppliers left who are quality conscious. So, the company’s reason to have an exhibition during this time was showcasing soft power.
Stating the reasons why clients attended the expo, Virag Gada, partner - sales and marketing at Jainam Silk Mills, told Fibre2Fashion, “Our personal invitation and our goodwill that we have built over so many years. So, clients always want to be attached to us due to our work ethics and commitment towards them. The quality and range of products that we provide: as you know we serve entire shirting fabric category from formal wear to casual wear to ethnic wear. So, customer is more than happy to get everything under one umbrella. Unlike other exhibitions where it is just meet and greet, ours was a personalised one. We had one-to-one meetings with the clients who had visited. This gave us the chance to understand their requirements as well as present our next season’s product developments and planning. So, this way we were able to get more bookings due to personal touch with each customer.
“Also, we are known in the market for always developing new and innovative type of fabrics, designs and concepts. So, a customer is always excited to visit us to see what new things we have developed that are not available in the market. And the timing of our exhibition was bang on as due to external or internal circumstances like price rise and all, majority of our competitors’ suppliers had not done enough new developments and planning. So, we were able to pull a lot of customers by continuing to make new products and stocking them even in uncertain market situation.”
Talking about the customers’ reaction at the expo, a spokesperson from the company told Fibre2Fashion, “We as a group have a capacity to serve each and every category in men’s shirting and ethnic fabrics. Customers are more than satisfied if they can get their requirements under one company. Many of our customers who deal with Stella Moda Fab for casual wear fabrics were actually amazed to know that we have two more brands serving other categories. So, this helps us in cross selling and up selling while customer gets all categories of fabrics under one roof.”
